My name is Markus Kolbe, founder of Holzdingsbums, a small German workshop specializing in handcrafted wooden products, selected hardwoods and natural materials.
Holzdingsbums is built on craftsmanship, appreciation for nature and the belief that beautiful everyday objects should be made to be used and enjoyed for many years.
Alongside our own production, we are continuously looking for reliable suppliers of quality hardwood lumber and carefully manufactured olive wood products.
Our goal is simple:

We design and manufacture handcrafted products from solid wood and natural materials.
Our assortment includes:

Most of our products are sold directly to customers at artisan markets and festivals throughout Germany.
Alongside our own workshop, we are steadily developing a carefully selected hardwood trading business.

This page, however, is intended specifically for producers, sawmills and exporters who would like to build a direct and long-term business relationship with us.
Modern communication and international logistics make it possible to work closely with partners all over the world.
We particularly enjoy working with independent businesses, family-owned companies and smaller producers who take pride in the quality of their products.
Rather than building a large supplier network, we prefer to build a few reliable partnerships based on trust, transparency and continuity.
Our greatest interest lies in building direct relationships with producers of Black Walnut, American Sweetgum and Olive Wood. These are among our favourite woods and play an important role in our workshop.
Lumber Specifications
We are primarily interested in hardwood lumber suitable for handcrafted products.
Preferred thickness 26–40 mm
Maximum thickness: 65 mm
Preferred length
Minimum: 60 cm
Maximum: 120 cm
Boards up to 120 cm are ideal because they fit standard European pallets and perfectly match the dimensions of our products.
Drying
Kiln-dried lumber is preferred.
However, depending on the species—especially Olive Wood—well air-dried material is also of great interest.
Preferred Quality
High-quality hardwood is preferred.
Depending on the species, FAS, FAS Prime, Select or equivalent grades are preferred where available.
For certain species, outstanding colour, grain and natural character are just as important as formal grading.

Olive wood is one of the most important materials in our workshop.
We are especially interested in producers and exporters from Mediterranean countries.

We are always interested in discovering additional hardwood species suitable for high-quality handcrafted products.
Olive Wood Products
Besides rough lumber, we are also interested in carefully manufactured olive wood products, including:
- Cutting boards
- Serving boards
- Kitchen utensils
- Bowls
- Small household accessories
We are not looking for furniture or container-based mass production.
Instead, we are interested in high-quality artisan products suitable for craft markets and specialist retail.
Purchasing
Our workshop is intentionally small.
We do not purchase industrial quantities.
Typical orders range from one to two Euro pallets, usually less than one cubic metre of lumber per shipment.
We have limited storage capacity and therefore prefer regular, reliable deliveries rather than occasional large orders.
Consistency, communication and dependable quality are much more important to us than volume.
